The Heritage 441 Run - 30th Anniversary Edition
The Cass Scenic Railway to Ohio Route, day nine

From the Cass Scenic Railroad we head to Ohio. We get moving early this morning,
on the road by a little after nine. The route zig - zags us up US219 and US250 to
meet US33 in Elkins, over to I-79, then over US50 to I-77 into Ohio. From there,
it's just a short while down US62 to US183 and my brother Matt's house. Ann makes
really good time, arriving about an hour ahead of what we figured.
Elkins is where I attended to Super Magna Owners' Group annual meet back in 2009, when Jay and I rode our motorcycles through the mountains here, including this strech of US33 we're about to drive down. I was hoping that we could drive the stretch through the George Washington National Forest where it's nothing but trees and a stretch of two lane road as far as the eye can see... But no such luck on this trip. We'd really have to back track and Ann's shoulder won't tolerate much more than the drive we already have ahead of us.
Matt and Michelle are waiting for us when we arrive. Once we get settled in, I call Chris and wake him up. His son, Daniel, starts his first day as a college student at my Alma Mater, The University of Akron. He had three days of orientation to attend, so I'm guessing Chris is worn out from that. He says he'll be over in a little bit. We sit and catch up with M & M while we wait.

Still drinking from yesterday... At least, until I take a short nap, into the afternoon that is. My drinking has slowed a bit and by now I'm just in energy conservation mode. Not much fun I know... Most of this is from memory and reconstructed by looking at the original dates of the photos we took.
